Resumen: La ausencia de autoridad no es algo nuevo ni exclusivo del Perú. Ya la filósofa Hannah Arendt lo señaló al escribir que “la autoridad ha desaparecido de mundo moderno” y, en mi entender no le falta razón. En su ensayo “¿Qué es autoridad?”, de 1954, señala que el concepto se ha alejado de lo que representó en el pasado, cuando la autoridad venía alineada con la religión y la tradición.
Por un lado, está el desarraigo de las élites de la política y la vida pública, y por otro la escasa importancia que se le da al proceso electoral y al desinterés de los votantes por la política.
Abstract: The absence of authority is not something new or exclusive to Peru. The philosopher Hannah Arendt already pointed this out when she wrote that “authority has disappeared from the modern world” and, in my opinion, she is not without reason. In her essay “What is authority?”, from 1954, she points out that the concept has moved away from what it represented in the past, when authority was aligned with religion and tradition.
On the one hand, there is the uprooting of the elites from politics and public life, and on the other hand, the scant importance given to the electoral process and the disinterest of voters in politics.
